Freelance IT Controller (Future Proof Finance + IT)

Our client is looking for an Freelance IT Controller to support the IT Leadership Team in its IT Financial Management activities. Information technology, digitalisation and data management are crucial for our client (based in the Drechtsteden- regio/ West NL) to realise their strategic ambitions and objectives (ensure an agile/ reliable/ innovative information- and data landscape that delivers on its technological and digital objectives (a mature IT- Financial management capability). 

You are the trusted advisor for the IT Leadership Team on all aspects of IT Financial management. You own and manage the operation financial budgeting and forecasting process and reporting (both Opex and Capex). You drive the initiatives to make the IT- Finance- capability more mature and future proof with a focus on cost transparency, predictability, BI- reporting and value optimisation instead of cost optimisation. You initiate/ plan/ drive the financial perspective of the IT annual planning process. You manage effective relationships and collaborate with our internal IT Finance & Control department and colleagues and adhere to the internal financial standards.

Min. of  5-10 years financial business related experience;

A Master/ Post Master degree in Financial Controlling (f.i. HOFAM/ RC) or equivalent;

Experience in IT Controlling within large international context;

Strongly analytical and conceptual - able to present in a convincing way, and to act quickly from the analysis of a situation towards action;

Reliable and accurate, you work structured and precise, you are results-oriented and independent, your focus is on getting things done and you are able to plan your own work and set effective priorities;

In possession of strong communication skills, results of calculations translated into understandable advice;

Knowledge of internal control frameworks is preferred;

Comfortable with working in MS PowerBI and Excel to create BI-reports and dashboards; experience with MS PowerPoint to create visualizations and communication materials;

Strong English (CEFR C1/C2) written and verbal communication & presentation skills. Dutch is preferred but is not mandatory.
