Introductie

For one of our clients we would like to get in touch with a Freelance Data Steward (Financial Data). The assignment will commence asap for a period of at least 6 months, preferable fulltime. The position reports to the Manager Data Stewards (Global Finance). Important stakeholders are the teamleads of the implementation projects, global finance subject matter experts (accounting/ reporting> R2R/ O2C/ P2P), masterdata managment team, (IFS) implementation project management team, regional heads of finance and corporate/ global finance department. During implementation also local Heads of Finance/ Local Finance Subject Matter Experts. 

Functie

The Freelance Data Steward represents the functional data owner who sets the standard for the data and work in alignment with the Finance Subject Matter Experts (area's R2R/ O2C/ P2P). The Data Steward ensures compliance according to the global finance processes, finance manual and internal control framework. The Data Steward is the gatekeeper to ensure that all changes to masterdata have been evaluated and that there is a clear business or legal reason for adopting. The Data Steward works closely with the Finance Subject Matter Experts to ensure full transparency and acts as advisory body for data standard, guiding principles and policies. During project the Data Steward has a key role to ensure that masterdata that are being transferred are correct and aligned with the standards. The Data Stewards works closely with Masterdata Management Team to ensure “clean” masterdata and to prepare input to ensure a smooth system implementation. Important stakeholders are the Implementation Lead of the implementation (sub-) projects, the Global Finance Subject Matter Experts, the Master Data Management Team, IFS Project Management Team, Regional Heads of Finance and Corporate/ Global Finance. 

GLOBAL PROCESSES

  • In close cooperation with BPO determine business rules/ requirements for data such as chart of accounts, cost centers etc.
  • Responsible for data quality with regards to key/ critical data elements existing within a specific data domain
  • Ensures master/ reference data remains updated with latest up-to-date information
  • Responsible for solving data related issues and communicating resolutions with other data stewards from other domains and terminal users
  • Engaged in day-to-day use of functional knowledge to gauge/ approve/ reject master/ reference data creation/ up-date/ deletion/ solving functional issues related to the data
  • Closely coordinate with other functions where there are dependencies or others should provide an output. Together with the other functional Subject Matter Experts ensure that there are no “grey zones”.
  • Ensure business/ end users have a practical understanding of the data
  • Assess impacts related to data changes/ processes/ roles
  • Identify relationship with other data domains, ensure changes are reflected
  • Approve/ mediate/ arbitrate resolution of cases raised in SNOW forms
  • Design the processes/ procedures for data stewardship
  • Maintain a repository of information and decisions, keeping end users informed regarding changes.
  • Adopt changes as per requests from global functions: R&C/ Tax/ Commercial/ OPS/ Technical/ HR/ Other.
  • Create/ maintain data mapping (for OneStream Reporting)
  • Create/ maintain data mapping for local Chart of Accounts, for Statutory/ Tax Reporting
  • Validates/ approves business terms/ data definitions related to the data asset
  • Engages in the ongoing/ detailed evaluation of data quality, identification of abnormalities/ discrepancies, and the contribution of expertise to understand the root cause, implement corrective measures
  • Responsible for providing information of the data elements, such as definitions, related business rules and standards
  • Provides input on the complete lifecycle of the master/ reference data (from creation to retirement)

ROLL-OUT

  • Sign off functional templates (delivered by the Master Data Management Team), before any data load
  • Work closely with the Finance Subject Matter Experts, Master Data Management Team/ Terminal Implementation Lead to ensure quality and delivery according to project timeplan.
  • Ensure good communication with local Finance Superuser(s) and local Project Organization.
  • During implementation provide feedback to Global Project Team to ensure full transparency , coordinate both cross functional and with project team for issue resolution.
  • Participate in Implementation Team weekly meetings, outlining activities status, highlighting any risks
  • Review/ manage data requests, understand user needs and technical feasibility
  • Provide impact assessment/ approval for change requests

Functie eisen

EDUCATION

  • Level HBO+ Finance (Accounting/ Reporting/ Datamanagement/ Masterdata/ Financial Data/ Data Governance)
  • 3-5 years of review experience (preferably Big- 4) or internal review in large multinational companies
  • Basic understanding of Shipping/ Logistics/ Transport- business

TECHNICAL 

  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to extract/ compile/ analyse data.
  • Knowledge of working around ERP- systems, preferably IFS ERP
  • Excellent communication/ interpersonal skills; be able to build good working relationship (internal and external)
  • Review Techniques/ Internal Controls/ Risk Management
  • In- depth understanding of any process of P2P/ O2C/ R2R (A2R)
  • Knowledge of MS Office modules
  • Good understanding of client ways of working, should have conducted/ be planned to conduct Lean lv3
  • Experience of working in project/ Kaizen as project member or project lead
  • Proactive attitude, information seeking, able to work independently with limited supervision
